Cronos Ecosystem Spotlight: D.G.Pals
D.G.Pals is an interoperable multi-game, multi-genre NFT GameFi Project on Cronos.
Last week we kicked off the Cronos Ecosystem Spotlight Series — a series of interview articles covering projects that are building on Cronos Chain.
Today, we are excited to feature D.G.Pals, an interoperable multi-game, multi-genre Web3 Gaming Project on Cronos. Read on to find out more about them!
1. What is the origin story behind the conceptualisation of DGPals?
Our team has experience building all kinds of games, we have built games of multiple genres, on various platforms and with different tech-stacks. When we first got exposed to Web3 gaming, we were intrigued by the notion of ‘Ownership’ part of the web3 technology.
Not only does NFT make ownership of a digital asset possible, the idea of interoperability is also very enticing for a gamer. Imagine if I had spent 1 year or more playing an online MMORPG (which most gamers do), at the time I decide to retire and move onto my next gaming adventure, I can look back at the loots and achievements I have amassed in the game, I can now either hold onto them as trophies (even if the game servers shut down permanently, I get to keep them) or pass them on to the new adventurer who can appreciate what I have accomplished. Imagine again if I can actually bring forward these digital assets and play it in another game! Personally, I feel this total embrace of the web3 technology for a true entertainment product will offer a new paradigm to gaming in general.
So to sum up, we want to create one of the first interoperable NFTs, multi-chain gaming experience in the Web3 space.
2. Could you please tell us more about the founding team and their past experiences with gaming?
Collectively, we have dabbled in many things gaming related. Passionately, we believe that the gaming industry is not just about making games, but to use games as a vehicle to effect change. There are a lot of career options in the gaming industry that aren’t just about developing games and we believe that many youths who are passionate about gaming and looking to convert that passion into a career. In all of our gaming businesses, we want to make careers in esports, game marketing, gaming event management, gaming community development, game related merchandise/product design accessible.
On top of that, it has been amazing experience to engage with the community on Twitter. If anybody wishes to reach out for a conversation you can follow us at: @samsonoh and @Kit_DGPals.
3. Can you share about any recent exciting updates that gamers can look forward to?
On the 18th of July, we announced that D.G.Pals is having a Crossover with Mighty Jaxx. This collaboration signifies an important milestone for D.G.Pals. It shows that the project has reached a stage where it can be trusted by established brands and that the team can be trusted to create utilities that add values for our partners.
The ability to bridge beyond the blockchain space to real world businesses is something we strive to achieve. It is then we can create the exchange of services from Online to Offline and vice versa. In such an environment, we believe that the D.G.Verse can become relevant to more people and businesses alike, creating that dynamic and sustainable ecosystem.
Building games is second nature to the team and we have confidence that the games will eventually be good, layer after layer, we add onto D.G.P: New World and D.G.P: Legends. The next most exciting gaming experience we are excited to share is the Chain War event happening in D.G.P: Legends. The idea that we can have players from Cronos, BNB, Polygon and other chains playing the same game together is pretty exciting to us.
4. Why did you choose to build on Cronos and how has the experience been?
Building the D.G.Verse foundation on Cronos was the right move for us. Not only is the space curated, the developers at Cronos were very accessible and supportive of our endeavor. While we have much to learn, these learnings were often fast-tracked by the Cronos team just making themselves available to developers like us.
It was certainly exciting to witness the very strong support that the #Crofam community has for us. Since launching in April this year, we have managed to mint out our 10,000 D.G.Pals Genesis NFT collection, raised approximately US$700,000 from primary NFT sales, and generated over 2.8 Million CRO worth of secondary sales volume.
Here are some takeaways after building on Cronos for the last 7 months:
#Crofam has shown to be the most steadfast and energetic community you want to build your project with.
The Cronos team and the professionals who made Cronos their home base have been nothing but open and supportive in problem solving and bringing values to the projects.
The support programmes designed by Cronos helped make building on Cronos much easier.
The values held by the Cronos team are very much aligned with the team at D.G.Pals, for that reason we are very hopeful and inspired. Together we can go far.
5. Where can a user learn more about DGPals? How can they get started with the game?

About Cronos
Cronos (cronos.org) is the first EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain network built on the Cosmos SDK, supported by Crypto.com, Crypto.org and more than 300+ app developers and partners. Cronos is building an open ecosystem where developers can create their own DeFi and GameFi applications, targeting a base of 50+ million users globally. Earlier this year, Cronos Labs launched a $100M Accelerator program to help developers build new projects and the future of Web3 within the Cronos ecosystem.
When developers build on Cronos, they can leverage all Ethereum developer tools (i.e. Solidity, Truffle, Hardhat, OpenZeppelin, Web3.js, ethers.js, ChainSafe Gaming SDK); leading crypto wallets (i.e. MetaMask, Crypto.com Defi Wallet, Trust Wallet); wrapped versions of the world’s top 50 cryptocurrencies; Cronos Play, a suite of developer tools for Unity, C++ and Unreal engine; and inter-blockchain communication (IBC) cross-chain connectivity to Cosmos chains; and as well as a rich ecosystem of composable DeFi and GameFi dApps.
Cronos is supported by Cronos Labs, the ecosystem grant fund, Web3 start-up accelerator, and incubator of Cronos chain.
